Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Yard Operations:

  • Taking ownership of inspection, pipe preparation and facilitating return processes.
  • Coordinating the daily loading and unloading of OCTG and associated goods related to yard operations.
  • Supervising all reporting yard personnel on site including instructing on day-to-day duties.
  • Facilitating regular stock counts and effective inventory management, with communication to the Facilities Compliance Coordinator for investigation to address inaccuracies promptly.
  • Reporting to MITO on a daily basis regarding yard activity and ability to meet major objectives.
  • Managing third parties directly related to yard operations to meet all Quality Management requirements with particular attention to stock maintenance, organisation, safe storage, and accurate accounting of stock levels.
  • Maintaining the yard in a safe and environmentally sound manner to meet relevant legislation regulations and MITO’s requirements.
  • Acting as the designated yard first aider.
  • Liaising and coordinating with all customer and third party sub-contractors for daily yard and road freight operations.
  • Actioning maintenance related matters for plant and equipment.
  • Delivering toolbox talks and daily planning meetings.
  • Conducting customer and manager related communication with internal and external stakeholders to keep all parties abreast of activities.

Quality & Safety:

  • Taking ownership of QHSE procedure and policy compliance for the Dalby yard
  • Supporting Facilities Compliance Coordinator to review and update QHSE compliance as required for the Dalby yard.
  • Reporting quality non-conformance and/or process deviations for investigation and review.
  • Preparing NCR and Safety incident reports in liaison with relevant parties to ensure compliant practices and recommendations are upheld and impacts to MITO are minimised.
  • Conducting and recording safety and hazard observations and leading continuous improvement focus.
  • Maintaining responsibility for the quality output of the operation ensuring internal team and service providers meet quality requirements.
  • Ensure all yard plant and equipment are maintained and compliant to ensure safe working requirements.

Team Leadership:

  • Conducting probation, performance and development reviews on time and with appropriate detail/consideration.
  • Taking ownership of direct reports throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring they are set up for success, that they receive business communications in a timely manner and that any changes to their employment are communicated and administered appropriately and professionally.
  • Holding direct reports accountable to the expectations of their role, identifying skill gaps and providing honest feedback, development and coaching to build capability.
  • Supporting the Facilities Compliance Coordinator to ensure updates of skills and competency matrix are accurate and role aligned.
  • Regularly seeking and acting on feedback to build self-awareness and to create a feedback culture.
  • Managing the workflow of the team to ensure delivery on site-based and wider Company goals.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

  • High Risk Work Licensce (Class  LF)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Chain of Responsibility Level 1
  • Load & Unload Goods Level 1
  • Valid Australian working rights.

Experience:

  • Experience in people management/supervision
  • Inventory Management
  • Proven ability to build strong internal and external relationships, fostering collaboration and effective communication
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
